Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (NCEH/ATSDR)

The NCEH/ATSDR are offering a paid 10-week summer internship program for students who are passionate about the environment, interested in human health, and curious about how they are linked.   The program runs from June 12 to August 16, 2013 and a stipend of $600 a week will be paid.   Eligibility requirements are US citizenship or permanent resident (with green card), full time enrollment at a college or university as a rising junior or rising senior by fall 2013 and minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.   Application deadline is January 30, 2013.   For an application visit the website:  www.cdc.gov/nceh/cleh.   For more information, please email Jay Nielsen or Crista Essig at CLEH@cdc.gov

The University of North Texas Summer NSF-REU Program

University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Summer Research Opportunity

West Virginia University Center for Neuroscience Summer Internships

West Virginia University Center for Neuroscience has 12 Summer Undergraduate Research internships.   Accepted students will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive and enjoyable research experience.   The WVU Center for Neuroscience supports broad-based research across over 40 laboratories housed in modern research facilities.   The center offers state-of-the-art technical capabilites and techniques such as genomics, non-linear optical microscopy, transgenic animal and microarray facilities, three-dimensional tissue analysis, and human neuroimaging using high field MRI and combined PET/CT imaging.   The SURI program will run from May 28 - July 29, 2013.   Online applications will be accepted from students currently enrolled at a college or university in the U.S. who have completed their 2nd or 3rd year.  Preference will be givn to those with strong background in biology, neuroscience, physics, chemistry, engineering, or psychology, with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.   Applicants are required to submit their curriculum vitae, official college transcripts, and two letters of recommendation.  Application deadline is February 1, 2013, with the research awards to be announced as early as March 1, 2013.   For more information about the program, please visit:  http://www.hsc.wvu.edu/wvucn/Summer-Internships-(SURI

UT Southwestern Medical Center Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program

The Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Summer Research

Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology SUNY Upstate Medical University
