Explore the exhibit and more:

  • Curator talks (5:15, 6:15, and 7:15 p.m.): Hear about the exhibit firsthand from its curators, Elizabeth McDonnell and Christy Schneider.
  • Hands-on activities (throughout the evening): Learn how green spaces have long played an important role in urban health, from William Penn's plan for a "greene countrie town" called Philadelphia to the phytoremediation (that is, soil remediation using plants) taking place today around the world. Then contribute your own thoughts and creativity by creating artwork that explores your environment.

Support for Sensing Change and related programming has been provided by the Dietrich Foundation, the Public Health Fund, and U.S. Trust. CHF acknowledges Kathryn Hach-Darrow's generous support of exhibits in the Clifford C. Hach Gallery at CHF. Additional support for CHF's exhibits program comes from Crystal TrustThe Dow Chemical Company, and the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
