NSF REU site for Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at the Unviersity of Akron

Once again, the University of Akron is pleased to announce that their NSF REU site for Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering will accept applications for the summer 2013.   This year's stipend amount is $7,000 and the deadline for applications is February 1, 2013.   This program is primarily for undergraduate students who are currently sophomores or juniors, although freshmen may be considered.   Please go to the website for more information and to apply:   If you have any questions please contact the Director, Kelli Fetter at 330-972-7667 or 

ACS Nuclear & Radiochemistry Undergraduate Summer Schools

The Division of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology of the American Chemical Society (ACS) is sponsoring two INTENSIVE six-week Summer Schools in Nuclear and Radiochemistry for undergraduates.  Funding is proveded by the US Department of Energy.   Fellowships include a stipend of $4,000, all tuition and fees, etc.  Each summer school is limited to 12 students - San Jose State University (CA) and Brookhaven National Lab (NY).  Completed applications must be received no later than February 1, 2013.  Announcement of awards will be made in mid March 2013.  Applicants must be US citizens.  For more information contact:  Prof. J. SURP - Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech has an excellent opportunity for a number of advanced undergraduates to participate in research this summer, 2013.   You can earn $7,000 during the 11 week program.   Conduct research with science and engineering faculty mentors.  Rising juniors and seniors are preferred (U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident).   The research is from May 20th until August 2, 2013.  Application Review begins February 1, 2013, so apply early.  For more information and to apply online, visit :
